Well now is the time to sound off on how you thought the Cards looked in week 1. I, and I know numerous others, have similar concerns after week 1. I will spell them out below:
1. The numerous dropped balls. Just about every pass Reynolds threw could have been caught but only 2 of 6 were. This will need to be worked on in practice.
2. The bad special teams play. I don't know if I have ever seen the special teams play so bad from the kickoff return they allowed, to the missed fake field goal, to the missed extra point to the numerous holding penalties on punts. They looked awful. Plenty of room for improvement here.
3. The defense looking gassed in the second half. I know the 100+ temperatures played a major part in this, and maybe the coaches were trying to figure out where they were conditioning wise, but the defense looked visably tired on Wayne's biggest drive.
Those are my main areas of concern after week 1. I am not too worried about any of them, as this was week 1 and it usually takes a few weeks to work out the kinks, lets hope they shore it up this week or the game against Hoover may be a barn burner.

I'm worried about the conditioning of this football team.

someone needs to explain to me what was going on with the kids being so gassed. i had a feeling that the practices weren't nearly as rough as they normally are during august because of the heat and that showed in week 1. plus, that freshman qb from wayne had our defense running all over the place in the second half. not good.
special teams is, well, special. i can't remember the last time colerain has had a solid special teams outing. when was the last time we returned a kickoff for a td? for all the talent we have, special teams is about discipline and execution which, quite frankly, we seem to struggle at.
offense certainly moved the ball, couldn't finish. that had as much to do with the refs as anything. hopefully the zebras at the herbstreit are a little less liberal with the yellow laundry.
