So what does everyone think so far about the Cards......
In my opinion they look to have a ton of potential and have impressed me more than any other local school, although Centerville has looked impressive in their first 2 games also.
The defense is slightly undersized but are very fast and tackle well, Calvin Dixon is a beast, and Eugene is as good as always.
On offense, I think they have more weapons this year than ever before between all the running backs and the passing threat, this offense should be one of the best, if not the best we've seen in a long time.
What does everyone else think?

Impressive to say the least! While it's true, our defense hasn't been truly tested and won't be until at least week4, they still look good. The D-Line is about as good it can be without having twins named Byrd. The secondary, so far, is as good as 04. Sadler's diving INT had me diving for my roster to see who he was on Friday. Eugene more than made up for his muffed punt catch. I had Deja Vu of that scenario watching the UGA highlights saturday.
Reynold's could become a better QB than Goodman by the end of next year. While true, no one will ever run the option as smooth and swiss watch like as Goodman, Reynolds is more of a complete package. His arm, IMO, could be the best in the city. That sure was a beautiful rainbow that he dropped right into Tabar's bread basket. Prediction: The Univ's start coming to talk to Reynolds after the Herbie.
The overall improvement from weeks one to two was remarkable. Granted Brookhaven was a disappointment IMO. But, maybe we are just that good, after all Mason and "Broke"haven were both in the playoffs last year and 557 to -4 yardage doesn't happen often. While we may not have superman talent like we did in 04, what I see is a team that has just as much excitement and heart as 04 did. Those are two things we were missing last year. This team likes to have fun and put on a highlight show (see Godfrey/Clifford/Pride first half Friday). Pair that with the deep pool of talent and I smell Canton all over again.

Well I feel it's time to reopen this thread after these last 2 games against Ohara and West. I will disregard the West game mostly as this game was just a mess in all ways.
I personally am not as high on these Cardinals as I was early on. They continue to have trouble hanging onto the football and leaving touchdowns on the field. The turnovers, missed reads and missed assignments continue to haunt this offense and if it is not corrected, this team will fall short of their potential.
If the offense can get these problems corrected and improve as the final 5 games are played then they can be one of the best teams Colerain has seen. I think this team has the potential and talent required to win a state championship, but what worries me is that after 5 games they still have yet to put together a complete game in all facets of play.
The offense has turned the ball over 15 times this year already, compared to 17 in 2005 (in 12 games) and also 17 in 2004 (in 15 games). Averaging 3 turnovers a game is not going to get you far in the playoffs. However, after 5 games in 2005 the offense has turned the ball over 12 times, so this is not a lost cause yet.
On a brighter note, the defense continues to impress me, they just look awesome. The have only given up one touchdown all year and it is probably a good thing that they did, I mean how long can that streak really continue.
In closing, I think this team has all the tools to contend for a state title, they just need to work hard to improve the little things on offense to ever have the chance. If they turn the ball over 3 times a game in the playoffs they won't be going very far.
Region 4 looks to be wide open with there really being no complete team out there. Colerain has had turnover problems, X has yet to develop a passing threat, Moeller's entire offense is not that strong, Elder's defense is just average, Centerville and Northmont have both been exposed and LaSalle has had problems with both of the good teams they have played. So Region 4 is wide open right now, lets hope these last 5 weeks show a gradually improving Cardinals team working towards another state championship...
